Live in Woodbine Gardens

When you drive through Woodbine Gardens today, it is easy to envision it as the former site of the Woodbine Golf and Country Club in the 1930s. The wonderful topography of the neighbourhood is further complemented by Taylor Creek Park, which wraps itself around the southern reaches of the area. In 1932, the Woodbine Bridge was built across the Don Valley Ravine, paving the way for future development. The charming brick and stone houses on Glenwood Crescent were built in the 1940s. Building of the Woodbine Gardens subdivision in the early 195s was a major engineering feat. Water courses had to be rerouted underground and the hilly area had to be leveled prior to building. Woodbine Gardens houses originally sold for between $14,000-$19,000. House styles range from Tudor and ranch-style bungalows to solid brick two-storey houses. Most of these homes are situated on generously sized lots with a private drive and garage.
